Patriot Strength & Power Series (S&P) Explained

There is a difference between being fit and being athletic. Being stronger, faster, and more powerful – more athletic – makes any task easier: at the gym, in the ring, or on the field, farm, or battlefield.

Crossfit is a training program to face the “unknown and unknowable,” and must prepare for all attributes of fitness equally. The Strength & Power Series is designed from the bottom-up to maximize an athlete’s ability to display benchmarks of strength, power, stability, posture, and speed while moving through space. It is built around the Power Athlete MethodologyTM designed by NFL veteran, and Crossfit Games competitor, John Welbourn. 

As a series the programming works in 12-week training cycles during which athletes will be exposed to measured levels of constantly ascending loads, increasing intensity, and cumulative volume – punctuated by instances of overload – to drive physiological adaptations in the body. In a typical post-collegiate (working adult) gym population, completing their second 12-week training cycle: males show a 53% increase in strength on their back squat, and females exhibit a 58% increase, this is true of the deadlift as well (males 61% increase, and females 48%), while on upper body movements the increase in strength on strict press is typically 46% for males and 86% for females completing their second 12 week cycle.  

As you can see by the numbers above, the Series will increase one's overall capacity to exhibit strength and produce power ("the gainz") at an accelerated rate.
